The Poway Unified School District is seeking applications for Football Assistant Coaches at Del Norte High School. About Us: Del Norte High School is committed to fostering a culture of excellence in athletics and academics. The Del Norte football program is dedicated to developing student-athletes not only in their athletic abilities but also in teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. We are looking for passionate and experienced Assistant Coaches to help lead our high-performing team! Position Overview: Assistant Coaches will assist in developing training plans, coaching during practices and games, and promoting a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in competitive football, coaching experience, and a commitment to student-athlete development. Key Responsibilities: • Teach and refine skills, techniques, and strategies. • Assist with game preparation, including line-ups, equipment, and team coordination. • Foster a positive, inclusive, and highly competitive team culture. • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration. • Monitor and promote the academic and personal growth of student-athletes. • Develop and organize team events, fundraising, and community service initiatives. • Support compliance with all school, CIF and league policies. • Assist with program administrative requirements.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications: • Knowledge of competitive football, rules, and training methods. • Prior coaching or competitive experience. • Ability to motivate and inspire high school student-athletes. • Obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification. • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. • Ability to work afternoons and evenings • Must pass background checks as required by the school district.
