Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Business Official, the Payroll/Benefits Specialist/Accounting Clerk is responsible for independently managing all aspects of District payroll and benefits administration for classified, certificated, temporary, and intermittent employees. This position performs complex payroll processing, benefit coordination, accounts payable and receivable functions related to payroll, ACA compliance, retirement reporting, and provides exceptional customer service to District staff while maintaining strict confidentiality. Requirements / Qualifications
Demonstrated experience performing complex payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a public sector or school district setting Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and procedures, including CALPERS and CALSTRS retirement systems Experience processing payroll, timesheets, leave accruals, deductions, and supplemental payrolls Ability to prepare accurate financial records, reports, and spreadsheets Proficiency with payroll and accounting software and standard office technology Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
Position works closely with the Chief Business Official and County Office of Education Experience in a California school district or governmental agency is highly desirable This position is subject to fingerprint clearance and background check Employment is contingent upon meeting all District and State requirements
