The North Coast Section ("NCS") is one of the ten Sections of the California Interscholastic Federation (“CIF”), The NCS is a non-profit California Corporation. It is an organization of approximately 175 public and non-public secondary schools located in Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, Sonoma and Trinity Counties. NCS coordinates the interscholastic athletic programs of its member schools through a representative governance process. The NCS assists member schools in the interpretation of the rules, regulations and procedures promulgated by the NCS Board of Managers and the State CIF. NCS is also responsible for monitoring and enforcing its rules. The NCS’s functions include, but are not limited to, determination of student eligibility, alignment of member schools into leagues and conferences, promotion of values and ethics in interscholastic athletics and conduct of post-season championship events. This is a 12-month full-time administrative position which will normally require more than 40 hours per week. During peak periods, 80 plus hours per week will be required and 100 plus hours per week have been required. Working on several consecutive weekends will occur three or more times a year. This position is an exempt position and, as such, compensation is limited to monthly salary; no overtime is paid. GENERAL NON-EXCLUSIONARY QUALIFICATIONS • Knowledge and experience in the implementation of high school athletic governance systems. • Knowledge and experience in the support of an educational athletic organization. • Knowledge and experience in conducting Championship events. • Experience as an athletic administrator and/or school administrator. • Commitment to supporting and improving the relationships amongst public schools, private schools and leagues.
