Pathway School educates and equips students who struggle in traditional classrooms by providing them with skills and strategies to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. A majority of our students have a language-based learning disability that affects their ability to learn to read, to develop written language skills, and to acquire mathematical skills. Pathway School students may suffer from anxiety, frustration and low self-esteem. Often, these are secondary to their learning disabilities. Examples of terms used to describe the learning differences commonly found at Pathway School are: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, specific learning disability, language-based learning disorder, auditory or visual processing disorder, ADHD, high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, or executive functioning.

We are seeking a dedicated Math & Science Teacher who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment. Position Overview The Math & Science Teacher will serve a dual role, teaching two math classes, supporting math small groups, and teaching science for Grades 3–8. This teacher will inspire curiosity, build confidence, and foster critical thinking while modeling a vibrant Christian faith and contributing to our nurturing school community. Math Teacher Responsibilities Teach two math classes. Provide targeted support through small-group instruction. Implement effective math strategies to build student competency and confidence. Identify student needs through pre- and post-assessments and ongoing data tracking. Adapt instruction to motivate and meet the needs of individual learners. Establish and maintain effective classroom management to support active student participation. Monitor progress weekly and communicate regularly with teachers, curriculum specialists, and administrators. Use assessment data to guide instructional planning. Science Teacher Responsibilities Deliver engaging, structured science lessons for Grades 3–8. Facilitate hands-on labs, experiments, and real-world applications of science concepts. Support students in developing Claim–Evidence–Reasoning (CER) skills through modeling, discussion, and writing. Differentiate lessons to support diverse learning needs. Monitor student achievement using curriculum-aligned assessments. Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment. Communicate regularly with families about progress, strengths, and areas for growth. Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administration to support student success. Christian
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Current teaching credential required. Teaching experience preferred; however, strong student-teaching experience with excellent recommendations will be considered.
