Job Summary
The Medical Assisting and Healthcare Occupations Instructor delivers comprehensive classroom and laboratory instruction that prepares students for entry-level roles in the healthcare field. The instructor ensures a safe, well-managed learning environment, provides instruction aligned with current industry standards, and oversees the student externship component of the program. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, verifying competency attainment, and collaborating with staff and industry partners to support a high-quality, compliant instructional program.
Requirements / Qualifications
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED: *Application completely filled (no blanks) **Record of Work Experience section must indicate start and finish dates, unless current employer. Reason for leaving and salary must be included. *Letter of Introduction (Must be in reference to industry experience) *Current Resume *Three (3) professional letters of recommendation, must be from past or present managers/supervisors (Must be dated within the past year.) ** Please note recommendation letters from co-workers, family, friends or community leaders will not meet the requirements for professional recommendation letters.** *Copy of credential *Copies of college transcripts and/or high school diploma **PLEASE NOTE, IF THE SECTION FOR RECORD OF WORK EXPERIENCE IS NOT COMPLETED WITH DATES OF EMPLOYMENT, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DEEMED INCOMPLETE** EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required. One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree highly desirable. CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Possession of a valid CA CTE 30-day substitute teaching permit or valid CA Designated Subjects or CTE credential. **Instructor selected must be able to comfortably use Google Suite (Classroom, Meets, Docs, Drive, etc.) to be selected. Will be demonstrated in virtual interview process; Must be willing to teach engaging online, hybrid format instruction.**
Documents required upon hire: Valid CA driver’s license, copy of transcripts (official sealed transcripts required if applying for credential), TB and fingerprint clearance.
