Requirements / Qualifications
Thank you for your interest in substitute teaching in Rocklin Unified School District. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining a supportive and enriching learning environment for our students, and we’re excited that you’re considering making a difference in our schools. The basic requirements for being a substitute teacher are to have: - A Bachelor's Degree (Basic Skills Requirement is now met by having a Bachelor’s Degree – no CBEST needed) - A California Teaching Credential or an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit (For those that do not hold a California Teaching Credential or an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit, Placer County Office of Education can assist individuals in applying for the permit.) Please submit your completed EDJOIN application with ALL the required documents. We will review the completed applications and recommend selected candidates to the Placer County Office of Education (PCOE) Consortium. PCOE will then reach out to the recommended candidate to get fingerprint clearance and provide required documents. RUSD will also reach out to you by email regarding the next steps in the application process. Once PCOE adds the prospective candidate to the consortium, the candidate must notify RUSD of their clearance.
