Job Summary
Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and supervising of the District-wide worker's compensation and safety programs including a variety of professional duties relating to the administration of safety, property, liability and worker's compensation in accordance with the law and to plan, develop, analyze, recommend, implement or supervise associated programs.
Requirements / Qualifications
License/Certificates/Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field safety, workers' compensation or a closely related field. Professional certification in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, workers' compensation, risk management or a closely related field. Minimum 2 years' experience in supervision of a self insured Workers' Compensation program. Experience with analytic tools (Predictive Modeling) to identify high exposure claims. Demonstrated ability to learn and understand a variety claims and administrative systems. Juris Doctor or Equivalent Degree (Preferred). Excellent communication skills, the ability to work with various levels of management, strong analytical skills, detailed oriented, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team setting required. Possession of a valid and appropriate California driver's license. Insurability by District liability insurance carrier may be required. May be required to provide own transportation to sites during workday. Possession of a California State Certificate to administer claims for self-insured. Associate Risk Management Designation required equivalent.
