  • Build a disciplined program culture that encourages healthy competition while helping athletes grow spiritually, physically, and mentally. Include team building and community service opportunities throughout the year.
  • Oversee all aspects of the football program in a way that allows VCHS to compete at the highest levels including planning and conducting daily practices sessions, developing individual skills, and overseeing gameday strategies.
  • Attract, develop, and manage outstanding assistant coaches who align with the department's philosophy and mission.
  • Create next level opportunities for VCHS football players through strong relationships within the school, the broader community, and among college coaches.
  • Complete all administrative tasks necessary for the role including overseeing equipment, ordering, social media, film, supervision, scheduling, and other operational assignments.
  • Build partnerships with parents and community leaders to advance the school’s mission.
  • Regularly pursue professional growth opportunities to expand network and elevate the level of instruction and care in the program.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge and passion for the sport of football, encompassing all rules and regulations established by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Central Coast Section (CCS) and West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL). • Possess prior experience playing and/or coaching football; prior experience coaching at the high school and/or collegiate level, particularly within competitive leagues such as the West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL), is strongly preferred. • Exhibit strong leadership to guide student-athletes in developing Christ-like character, effective communication skills for fostering partnerships with parents, and resolving conflict. • Display a proven ability to collaborate effectively with others, including parents, athletic department staff, assistant coaches, and school administration. • Maintain personal beliefs consistent with the Valley Christian Schools’ Statement of Faith and actively serving as a Christian role model able to provide opportunities to develop Christ-like character in athletes through teaching biblical life lessons This description is intended to describe the general nature of work to be performed in this job.
