This position involves teaching high school English courses and fostering a learning environment that promotes literacy, critical thinking, effective communication, and academic success. Essential Duties & Responsibilities English * Teach high school English aligned with California state standards * Design lessons that foster critical thinking, writing, reading comprehension, and communication skills * Create and maintain a supportive classroom environment that promotes academic and personal growth * Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners * Assess student performance and provide meaningful feedback to students and families * Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance * Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and families to support student success * Participate in school meetings, professional development, and district initiatives * Supervise students in classrooms and assigned school activities Required Qualifications * Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English * Strong classroom management and communication skills * Knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and instructional strategies * Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families Preferred Qualifications * High school teaching experience * Experience working with diverse student populations * Familiarity with technology integration and student-centered instructional practices
