The core duties below will require that a job incumbent: Installs, replaces, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems, equipment, appliances, controls, and fixtures including water, gas, and sewer installations. Works from sketches, drawings, and blueprints to install, maintain, and repair equipment, devices, and fixtures such as vacuum breakers, backflow devices, gas appliance safety controls, gas piping to steam tables, plumbing fixtures, drains, sinks, sumps, circulatory pumps, water heaters, and showers. Installs, maintains, and repairs gas piping systems for space heating. Installs, maintains, and repairs automatic, semi-automatic, and manually-operated lawn-sprinkler systems. Installs, maintains, and repairs air and gas welding systems. Surveys gas safety devices and other plumbing equipment that may need repair or replacement. Installs, maintains, and repairs automatic fire-sprinkler systems. Prepares reports pertaining to the testing and maintenance of backflow devices, fire-sprinkler systems, and other plumbing equipment, devices, and fixtures.
