We’re excited to announce an opening for a Special Education Assistant to join our dedicated team at Clayton Valley Charter High School! Our Special Education Assistants play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. This position works closely with teachers, specialists, and support staff to provide academic, behavioral, and social assistance that helps every student succeed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Delivers educational interventions designed by Special Education teachers to help students meet educational, academic, life skills, behavioral, physical, social and emotional goals. - Prepare/copies instructional materials as directed by the certificated staff member. - Assists certificated staff members to implement IEP to enable learning with minimal disruptions to other students and to foster student independence. - Assist students with personal needs including health needs when required- May require lifting of students. - Assists students in study labs to support students making adequate progress on their IEP goals, such as with support with organization, homework completion, and test preparation. - Provides small group and tutorial instruction and supervision as directed. - Informs the teacher of student progress and work. - Assists in general supervision of students. - Maintains confidentiality of information about students and parents. - Provides preventative and follow-up behavior management to students exhibiting disruptive behaviors and documents these situations. - Communicates effectively with staff & students regarding
