Special Education Teacher

Full-Time | San Diego, CA | $1,500 bonus

 Position Details:

  • Subject: Math and Literacy
  • Grade: K-8th Grade
  • Schedule: 40 hours weekly, exact hours TBD
  • Name of the school: Nazareth School and St. Didacus School.  
  • Bonus details: $1,500  bonus; paid in two installments.

Be their advocate, difference maker, and mentor.

Be there to design each student’s learning path based on their unique needs. With our proven curriculum and ongoing support, you can be wholly present and do what you love to do: support and empower students to be the best they can be and provide a safe space for them to learn and grow. 

Responsibilities

How you’ll do it:

This is an instructional role — there are no case management, IEP writing, or evaluation responsibilities. You’ll have the tools, curriculum, and support to focus entirely on teaching and student growth.

  • Deliver individualized or small-group instruction (1:1 or 1:2) in reading and math using Catapult Learning’s Accelerate curriculum.
  • Conduct bi-weekly progress monitoring and use data to guide lesson planning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support each student’s learning goals.
  • Communicate with parents primarily through email or in coordination with classroom teachers.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and instructional activities.
  • Participate in Catapult Learning professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications

What we’ll need from you:  

The positive, enthusiastic teacher we seek has these qualifications.

  • Special education credential required.  
  • 3+ years of experience teaching preferred
  • Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
  • Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
