OPPORTUNITY Green Dot is seeking a talented Student Support Specialist with a desire to support and work with a team of school leaders who strive to ensure that all students are prepared for college, leadership and life. The Student Support Specialist will help to create a positive campus-wide culture, implement the school-wide behavior management program and facilitate parent conferences, interventions, and other student supports as needed. You will support the school leadership team in establishing behavior management protocols and maintaining a positive, “college for certain” environment. This position will be based at our Ánimo City of Champions site.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES > Implement school wide discipline systems and enforce all school-wide rules and expectations > Manage mild and moderate discipline referrals from start to end, including completing investigations, providing cognitive coaching, communicating with parents, inputting information in Power School, facilitating reconnection meetings, assigning consequences and following up with teachers > Coordinate school detention, Restorative Resets and Saturday School programs > Support the implementation of restorative practices through leading ‘Reconnection’ meetings, ‘Harm Circles’ and ‘Restorative Resets’ > Manage daily student conduct agreements and daily check-ins > Facilitate parent conferences as needed > Support the Assistant Principal of Culture with tasks as needed > Supervise before, during, after school, including lunch periods, and other school events > Serve on the School Culture Team QUALIFICATIONS As an ideal candidate, you > have a bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not required) > are bilingual (English/Spanish) (highly desirable) > have experience working in an urban school setting > have experience implementing and managing policies and systems > have the ability to establish/foster a positive and safe school culture > have demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and de-escalation > have an understanding of Restorative Practices and Trauma-Informed Practices > possess a growth mindset and love of learning > demonstrate proven leadership capabilities > have a strong ethical base and self-awareness > are able to work independently and manage time effectively > have excellent interpersonal communication and written skills > are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve > will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer JOB REQUIREMENTS > Work Hours: This position requires consistent attendance during scheduled hours, as flexibility is limited by classroom or operational requirements. > Breaks: Breaks are structured within the workday and must align with operational needs and student care requirements.
