Job Summary
Under the supervision of the site administrator, provides standards-based theater instruction for pupils in grades TK - 8th. Creates a classroom environment favorable to learning and professional growth. The Theater Teacher will organize a schedule for, and work with classroom teachers in developing a classroom theater program; will organize and teach classes in theater; will develop theater performances. Establish effective rapport with pupils to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in theater.
Requirements / Qualifications
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and Testing Required: Valid California teaching credential authorizing instruction in music with English Learner Authorization. Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and fingerprint clearance. Credential: • Multiple Subject K-8 Teaching Credentials with Supplemental credentials in music or • Multiple subject K-8 Teaching Credentials with verified years of experience in music QI • Single Subject Music Credential • CLAD or BCLAD or equivalent preferred Education: • Bachelor's degree or higher required
