Job Summary
The School Psychologist plays a key role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and emotional success of Fortune scholars. This position provides comprehensive psychological services to students, families, and staff, including assessments, interventions, consultation, and collaboration with Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and data-driven professional who is passionate about educational equity, social-emotional learning, and creating safe, inclusive environments where every student can reach their full potential. Qualifications Required: Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or related field Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Psychology Thorough understanding of assessment tools, interventions, and special education law (IDEA, Section 504, FERPA) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders Preferred: 3–5 years of experience as a School Psychologist Experience working in a charter or urban school setting Knowledge of culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage 403(b) Retirement Plan (Fortune matches up to 4% of contributions after one year of employment) Paid Time Off: 12 paid sick days and 2 paid floater days annually Ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to identify students’ learning strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
Participate in IEP meetings and provide clear, actionable insights that inform educational decisions and supports.
Provide direct counseling and mental health interventions (individual or small group) for students experiencing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design interventions that promote positive behavior, emotional regulation, and engagement.
Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in partnership with teachers and support staff.
Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and reports consistent with ethical and legal standards.
Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed to students and staff.
Offer consultation and professional development to educators regarding child development, trauma-informed practices, and student mental health.
Support multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and social-emotional learning initiatives across the school site.
Collaborate with outside agencies and community organizations to connect students and families to appropriate resources.
Promote and uphold Fortune’s mission, vision, and Five Pillars through all aspects of service delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong grasp of child development, learning theory, and behavioral psychology
Expertise in psychoeducational assessments and data interpretation
Ability to build trust and rapport with students and families

Skill in maintaining detailed and confidential records
