Job Summary

Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Food Services and guidance of the Kitchen Manager and Cook, assist in performing large-quantity cooking in the preparation of foods such as main dishes, vegetables, fruits and salads in a production kitchen environment; maintain kitchen facilities, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition.

Requirements / Qualifications

*Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school *One year experience in the preparation and serving of food in large quantities.

Location: Brea Olinda High School Hours: 3.75 hrs Shift: 8:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday - Friday/9.5 months Sick leave and vacation are earned at a rate of one day per month. An insurance policy is available for hospitalization, major medical, dental, vision, and life. School employees must join the State School Employees Retirement System. California School Employees Association Agreement Article VI, 6.1.3 states: “Voluntary transfer/promotion requests by an employee for an opening shall be given prior consideration over a new employee.” Article VI, 6.3.2 states: “When a new position is created or an existing position becomes vacant, the District shall first offer the opportunity to transfer or to seek promotion to bargaining unit employees.” All applicants must possess the personal qualifications generally recognized as essential to become an understanding public employee including integrity, initiative, dependability, courtesy, good judgment, and ability to work with others. Applicants may be rejected on the basis of an incomplete application or failure to meet the minimum posted qualifications.
