"CATEGORICAL" Elementary Music Teacher - Itinerant BCLAD (Spanish) Stipend up to $ 3000 per year Up to 10 years of service credit for new hires Excellent medical, dental, & vision benefits The itinerant music teacher will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive music education program for elementary school students in . Requirements / Qualifications

California Single Subject Credential in Music or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential authorizing services in music and or Bachelor's Degree with a major or minor in music. CLAD, BCLAD, or English Learner Authorization Minimum of one year of successful experience teaching music/band at the elementary and or middle school level. Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish, desirable.

Appearance, grooming, and personality which establish a desirable example for parents, staff, and students. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to consistently sit for periods of time; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands and fingers to touch, feel or operate standard office equipment including technology, and reach with hands and arms; walking level surface, stand, bend and stoop; lifting objects 1-25 pounds; carry/push 1-25 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision to read and enter data into a computer; ability to distinguish sounds in transmission, speaking. Mental Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee may regularly be required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; use math and mathematical reasoning; perform highly detailed work; work on multiple and concurrent tasks; work with frequent interruptions; work under intensive deadlines; and interact with District and program personnel, school administrators, managers, staff, vendors, the public, and others encountered in the course of work. Work Environment: Work in classroom environment Appointment to this position predicated upon passing a post offer physical and submitting a negative TB result. In addition, the selected candidate must complete the state fingerprinting requirements and the district must receive a Certificate of Clearance by the California Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Within three days of employment, all new employees shall show appropriate documents, which certify that they are legally eligible to work in the United States. The Immigration Reform and Control Act require the district to obtain documentation from every individual who is employed which verifies identity and authorizes his/her right to work in the United States. Selected candidates will not begin work until a fingerprint clearance has been received and submission of required documents.
