Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Director of Special Education, or designee, and direction of assigned certificated teacher(s), assist in providing instructional support, health care activities, and prescribed specialized one-to-one services for an individual student placed in an inclusion or special education program because of specific learning disabilities, orthopedic disabilities, and/or other limiting conditions; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; perform a variety of clerical and instructional duties in support of the assigned student’s instructional program as required by the disabling/limiting condition of the student and according to his or her established Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan. Under the supervision of a credentialed school nurse, public health nurse, or licensed physician or surgeon, assist certificated personnel to meet the specialized physical health care needs of an assigned student including catheterization, gastric tube feeding, suctioning, or other services that require medically related training. Training to perform specialized health care procedures, or other services that require medically-related training, shall be provided to the assigned employee prior to any requirement to provide such services. The Paraeducator – Special Education SPHC (Specialized Physical Health Care) is distinguished from Paraeducator-Special Education by the requirement to perform Specialized Physical Health Care procedures as a part of their regular assignment. The medical, behavioral, and instructional components of the student’s program are individualized and require precise adherence. It is essential that individuals who occupy these positions be able to adapt to the particular educational needs of the assigned student.

Monday–Friday | 12.5 hours per week;
Morning Shift:
Monday–Friday | 6:55 a.m. – 7:55 a.m.
Afternoon Shift:
Tuesday | 2:10 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday | 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Thursday | 2:10 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday | 2:10 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
