Keep our buses rolling and our students learning - join our team as a Diesel and Fleet Mechanic! Under general supervision of the Transportation Manager, to maintain and make minor and major mechanical repairs to school buses and other automotive and mechanical equipment; to drive school buses and to do related work as required. Two (2) years of journeyman-level experience in the repair and maintenance of automobiles, trucks, buses, and other power-driven equipment. Automotive Electrical Diagnostic and Repair Experience and Cummins INSITE a plus. Knowledge and understanding of maintenance and repairs of air brake systems required. In addition to vehicle maintenance duties, the Mechanic may be assigned to transport students to and from school or school activities as required.

The Mechanic position will require transportation of students to and from school upon request *A Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a School Bus Endorsement must be obtained within the District’s designated certification period following appointment Benefits include participation in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), along with vacation, holiday, and sick leave accruals in accordance with District policy, and health, dental and vision benefits with a District cap of $1375.00/month.
