Job Summary
The Behavioral Assistant supports students within the Brawley Union High School District by assisting with the implementation of behavior plans and promoting a positive and productive school environment. Working closely with teachers, counselors, and specialists, the assistant helps guide students in developing appropriate social and learning behaviors. Responsibilities include providing one-on-one or small group support, assisting with classroom management, and documenting student progress. Strong communication skills, patience, and a dedication to student growth are essential for success in this role. You'll be an advocate, a mentor, and a vital part of a collaborative team committed to student success. Additional Information: Part-Time employment is considered less than 8 hours per day. The salary is prorated at .8125 FTE for 6.5 hour position at Steps A-E.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications: -High School Diploma or Equivalent -Associate's degree OR -A minimum of 48 post-secondary semester units in child development, liberal studies or related field OR -Successfully pass a District approved Paraprofessional/Instructional Aide exam -One year experience working with disabled children in a classroom or similar learning environment. -Valid CA Driver's license -Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency Incumbents in this class are required to complete a Non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention training program
