Job Summary

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to increase the number of bus drivers in the Bonita Unified School District by providing paid training. After a School Bus Certificate is obtained and 40 hours of training is complete, the successful candidate will be paid for the 40 hours of training and offered a position as a Bus Driver I or Bus Driver II in the Bonita Unified School District.

Requirements / Qualifications

Upon completion of training, the following is a list of ongoing requirements for maintaining a position in the Bonita Unified School District: Hold a valid California Class A or B driver’s license with passenger endorsement & air brakes certification (renewed every five years). Type I School Bus Driver’s Certificate (renewed every five years). First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification (renewed every two years). Medical Examiners Certificate Card (renewed every two years). Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing. Ten hours of in-service training time required yearly.
