Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, plan, organize, control and direct the Special Education programs of the District; provide leadership for the instructional programs and staff of the division and work closely with school personnel, other departments and external agencies to coordinate the delivery of services for special needs students; assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; assure fiscal stability of the Special Education program; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: master's degree in education, special education or a related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience demonstrating knowledge of special education. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Teaching Credential. Valid Administrative Services Credential. Valid and appropriate Special Education Credential or five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience demonstrating knowledge of special education. Valid California driver’s license.
