Requirements / Qualifications
Under direction of a Nutrition Service Manager. Create, plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and train staff in Nutrition Services programs and operations throughout the District and provide technical direction; be responsible for inventory and maintenance of all Nutrition Service menus, training, products, ordering and distribution of food and supplies and equipment and to do other related work as required. Plan, implement, coordinate, participate in, and review district food service programs following department and USDA & State guidelines. Analyze food service operations for cost effectiveness and work with food service personnel and school administrators to implement improvements and necessary changes in food preparation, service, menus, facilities, and maintenance of equipment. Assure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and district requirements concerning sanitation, safety, and nutritional standards of food programs. Review and assess school daily/monthly financial data. Create, plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and train staff in culinary and service operations throughout the District. Qualifications: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma with additional training and/or courses in the food service area and four years of recent increasing responsibility in food service, preferably including some experience in a school district or kitchen. Registered Dietitian or Chef preferred. Acquisition and maintenance of ServSafe certification required.
