Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Instructional Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Montessori philosophy and California Content Standards
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction in language arts, mathematics, science, and cultural studies
• Create and maintain a prepared Montessori environment that promotes hands-on, self-directed learning
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Use ongoing assessment to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly

Classroom Management

• Establish a positive classroom community rooted in respect, responsibility, and collaboration
• Support student independence and self-regulation through Montessori practices
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and support staff to support the whole child
• Work closely with the Special Education (SPED) team to implement IEPs and support student goals
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events

Professional Responsibilities

• Engage in ongoing professional development related to Montessori education and instructional best practices
• Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and assessments
• Contribute positively to the school community and uphold professional standards

Qualifications

• Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Montessori Elementary Certification from an accredited program, or willingness to obtain
• Teaching experience at the elementary level preferred
• Strong understanding of child development, Montessori philosophy, and California Content Standards
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment

Pay: $60,100.00 - $75,373.00 per year  (plus additional stipends for Montessori certification)
