Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill two (2) vacancies for the position of Project Specialist, School Based Interventions for the Whole Child and Community Design department of the Student Services and Programs division. The Project Specialist, School Based Interventions, will provide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) technical assistance, consultative, advisory, and planning services to schools, districts and charter schools to assist with establishing programs and initiatives that promote safe, supportive, inclusive, and positive school climates. ABOUT DEPARTMENT Whole Child and Community Design is a commitment to honoring diverse voices, leveraging community relationships, and ensuring the well-being and success of every child. SDCOE operates one of eight regional technical assistance centers that will support local LEAs with the complexities of community schools planning, implementation, capacity building, and organization, and help districts implement culturally relevant practices and build equitable systems that create conditions for all members of the school community to thrive.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires the following Education and Experience and Certificates, Licenses, and Credentials:
 
Education and Experience:
Education:   A bachelor’s degree in education, social work, sociology, psychology, or closely related field; and,
Experience: Three (3) years of experience related to PBIS (3 tiers), educational leadership development, school-based interventions or mental health promotion
-- OR --
Equivalency: A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in behavior supports, education, social work, sociology, psychology, or closely related field, and three (3) years of experience related to PBIS (3 tiers) student engagement and leadership development, curriculum development, education, and school-based interventions
 
Certificates, Licenses, and Credentials:
  • CA Teaching or Service Credential
  • Restorative Practices certification preferred
