About the Employer

The Goleta Union School District (GUSD) serves approximately 3,384 students in preschool through sixth grade across nine elementary schools. All schools offer transitional kindergarten and strong support services, including special education and mental health, in addition to after-school care at all nine schools supporting approximately 1,500 students. GUSD offers embedded programs to address specific needs of gifted students and English Learners across the district. Each school maintains a 1.0–1.5 full time positions to support intervention needs for all students. Position hours are 7:30am to 1:30pm Monday through Friday. Playground Supervisor: Under the direction of an assigned Principal, supervises a variety of student activities, e.g., in the cafeteria and restrooms, at gates, on the playground, in hallways on campus, and in parking lots; monitors students' behavior at school, e.g., in the cafeteria and restrooms, at gates, on the playground, in hallways on campus, and in parking lots; performs a variety of routine clerical duties in support of assigned students; supervises students on campus suspension and detention. Crossing Guard: Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, escort school children safely across designated street intersections; assist in directing traffic to and from school grounds.
