Job Summary
The Regional Support Specialist provides targeted support to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) identified as needing critical assistance. This role reports to the Director of Leadership and School Systems and works collaboratively with the Region 5 team to assess needs, deliver technical assistance, and build capacity aligned with Expanded Learning Quality Standards.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience working in schools, districts, county offices, or community-based organizations supporting educational programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and training materials. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects. Proficiency with online learning platforms, presentation tools, and collaborative systems (e.g., Google Suite, Zoom, LMS). Ability to travel regionally for site visits and consultations.

Key Responsibilities
Assess LEA Needs: Review available data and collaborate with the Region 5 team to identify LEAs
that require support based on factors such as attendance, leadership changes, compliance, and
program quality.
Provide Targeted Support: Communicate with identified LEAs and offer responsive, needs-driven
assistance through consultation, systems reviews, and technical guidance.
Conduct Site Visits: Lead on-site assessments, document successes and challenges, and provide
actionable recommendations with follow-up.
Develop Training & Resources: Develop in-person and virtual professional learning opportunities,
ensuring alignment with the Expanded Learning Quality Standards, and update the Region 5 Training
Alignment Guide (R5 TAG).
