Reports To: Vice Principal of Academics Job Status: 11-month, full-time, exempt Description: The Learning & Academic Support (LAS) Director provides leadership and coordination of LAS services and staff. The LAS Coordinator implements and oversees academic support programming, supervises LAS staff, collaborates with teachers and administrators, and ensures students receive appropriate accommodations and learning supports consistent with JSerra’s mission. Responsibilities • Ability to interpret psychoeducational evaluations and academic testing to develop school-based learning plans • Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for the LAS program and staff • Supervise LAS faculty and staff; conduct observations, evaluations, and mentoring • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of student academic support plans and accommodations • Coordinate with faculty to integrate accommodations and support strategies into the classroom • Lead LAS department meetings to review policies, student needs, and program effectiveness • Manage scheduling, proctoring, and accommodations for standardized and semester exams • Apply for and coordinate accommodation requests with the College Board and ACT • Facilitate and coordinate the Student Support Team (SST) process, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, gathering and communicating student data, leading collaborative discussions with staff and families, and documenting and monitoring interventions and supports • Maintain accurate records, reports, and data for LAS services; ensure confidentiality of student information. • Collaborate with administrators, faculty, parents, and students to address academic or behavioral concerns. • Stay current on best practices in academic support and inclusive education • Develop and maintain relationships with trusted local public and private psychologists and clinicians (e.g. speech pathologists, educational therapists, occupational therapists,

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong organizational and leadership skills • Comprehensive knowledge of special education disability categories and appropriate and individualized interventions • Knowledge of special education best practices • Knowledge of learning accommodations, instructional support strategies, and assessment practices • Ability to supervise staff, conduct evaluations, and provide support • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems Education & Experience • Master’s degree in Educational Psychology/School Psychology, Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a learning specialist, support service coordinator, school psychologist, etc. preferred • Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs
