THE POSITION: The Coordinator III, English Learner Programs shall provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, supervisory and planning services for development of local and regional capacity for Local Education Agencies (LEA) achievement as it relates to students identified as English Learners/Multilingual Learners. The Coordinator III will facilitate continuous improvement through the delivery of professional learning, on-site visits, and regional events, especially as related to Integrated and Designated ELD and the California English Learner Roadmap. As a support to districts, the Coordinator III English Learner Programs will provide leadership for districts in the development of District English Learner (EL) Master plans and activities; plan, organize, develop, recommend, and evaluate programs, processes, and procedures; serve as a resource to school districts and the office in the area EL Program guidelines and regulations and services to multilingual learners; provide technical assistance to LEAs to improve outcomes for Long Term English Learners (LTELs); plan and conduct workshops; monitor Federal and state legislation and provide interpretation and guidance; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related and progressive educational administrative experience, with at least three years in public school setting as a site level administrator. Other administrative experience may include district and/or county-level administrative positions in K-12 education. Professional development experience in the field of instruction for English learners and Multilingual learners is required. Teaching experience with diverse populations is desirable. Education: Equivalent to a Master’s degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE All applicants must Possess a valid Administrative Service Credential. Possess and maintain a valid California Teaching Credential. Possess a Full English learner authorization such as BCC, LDS, CLAD, or BCLAD.
