Certified Interpreter-Deaf/Hard of Hearing at Madera County Superintendent of Schools
Requirements / Qualifications
Under general supervision, to assist a certificated teacher of the hearing impaired in instruction of hearing impaired students. Work under the direct supervision of a certificated teacher of the hearing impaired to facilitate communication between students with hearing impairments and their hearing peers, the classroom teacher, and other personnel in the school system; provide interpreting and other support services to students with hearing impairments who are mainstreamed in a variety of school settings. Other duties that may be performed when not required to provide interpreting may include tutoring, and note taking. Employees in this classification receive general supervision from an assigned administrator and work with a certificated teacher within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: May require: Oral bilingual proficiency in a second language as determined by administration. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and successful passage of a sign to voice/voice to sign evaluation at a Level 4 or 5 on a state agency approved certification. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License.

Salary Range $5,112.24 - $6,524.66
