Company Description The Creekside School is a nonprofit 501(c)3 private and nonpublic special education school dedicated to children with challenges relating to the world around them, most commonly found in autism and related special needs. We are committed to building individualized educational and therapeutic programs to foster greater student independence and healthy development. Each student's unique set of interests, strengths, and needs drives their comprehensive program. Through active collaboration between professionals and those who make up the family unit, we strive to gain a greater understanding of the student as a whole, and can develop programs accordingly. Role Description The Behavioral Support Aide is a full-time, on-site role located in San Jose, CA. The Behavioral Support Aide will provide support to students with special needs by implementing individualized educational and behavioral plans. The day-to-day tasks include assisting students with academic tasks, facilitating communication, and providing sensory and motor-based support. This role involves working closely with educators, therapists, and family members to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's development. Qualifications Experience in implementing individualized educational and behavioral plans Skills in facilitating communication and providing sensory and motor-based support Ability to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and family members Patience, empathy, and understanding of students with autism and related special needs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work on-site in San Jose, CA Relevant certifications or training in special education or behavioral support is a plus Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or related field is preferred
