Job Summary

Under the direction of assigned administrators, perform varied and responsible secretarial and administrative assistant duties to relieve the administrator of administrative and clerical detail; plan, coordinate and organize office activities and coordinate flow of communications for the assigned administrator. The Administrative Assistant classification is responsible for providing responsible sole secretarial and administrative support. Incumbents relieve a Director of administrative and clerical detail.

Requirements / Qualifications

*Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college level course work in secretarial science or related field and *Three years increasingly responsible secretarial experience including frequent public contact. *Type and input data at 55 WPM from clear copy.

Location: District Office Hours: 8.0 hours/day, Monday-Friday 5 days/week, 12 months/year Shift: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sick leave and vacation are earned on a prorated basis at a rate of one day per month. California School Employees Association Agreement Article VI, 6.1.3 states: "Voluntary transfer/promotion requests by an employee for an opening shall be given prior consideration over a new employee." Article VI, 6.3.2 states: "When a new position is created or an existing position becomes vacant, the District shall first offer the opportunity to transfer or to seek promotion to bargaining unit employees." Applicants may be rejected on the basis of an incomplete application or failure to meet the posted qualifications.
