Job Summary

Hours - 7:00am - 3:30pm Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Information Technology Network Engineer is responsible for developing the District’s network architecture, providing network infrastructure support, coordinating projects, improving communications, and working with other personnel to meet District Information Technology needs. This position will assist in the installation, configuration, deployment, maintenance, security and troubleshooting of servers, computers, wired and wireless network infrastructure, and data/voice communications. The administrator will perform other varied and highly complex duties in support of the District’s technology needs. Additionally, the Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing data privacy measures and cybersecurity best practices in compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), where applicable. The role requires collaboration with instructional technology teams to support digital learning initiatives and ensure that technology services align with the District’s educational goals.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledges and abilities stated above, and the ability to perform the duties of the position. Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum of five years of experience network management experience in a K-12 educational institution or a commercial organization with a variety of wireless, twisted pair, VM, Compliance, Cyber Security and fiber network technologies. License(s), certifications or other requirements: • Valid California Class C driver’s license. • Information technology industry-standard certifications desired (e.g., MCSE, MCAA, CompTIA, CCNP, CISSP)
