Middle School Core Math - 7th Grade 2025/2026 School Year at WISH Charter Schools
Requirements / Qualifications
Secondary Charter School seeking a 7th grade Math & Science core educator for the 2024-2025 school year. Teachers at WISH are expected to be knowledgeable about child cognitive development and various learning styles and modalities. We request that candidates have experience in working collaboratively. Co-teaching experience will be highly desirable. Other qualifications will include: • Bachelors degree • Valid California Single Subject Credentials or Teaching Authorizations. • English Language Learner Authorization required • NCLB Highly Qualified • CLAD or BCLAD certificates; • Demonstrated subject competence through appropriate examination or coursework; • Background clearance from FBI/DOJ • TB clearance All core subject teachers will be “highly qualified” as that term is defined under the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), and further defined by California state regulations implementing the NCLB requirements, unless such requirements are not deemed by the federal or state government to apply to charter schools such as WISH.
Essential duties & responsibilities: Provide a high quality, constructivist educational program in Math for WISH Charter Middle School students. Provide a balanced approach to instruction that incorporates blended learning, project-based learning, direct instruction, interdisciplinary units, and challenge based learning experiences. Utilize personalized and differentiated instruction and supports to empower and inspire learners to reach their highest potential. Establish a safe and inclusive culture of high expectations that embodies the shared belief that important academic, social, and ethical skills and attitudes are developed when students with various strengths, needs, and backgrounds learn together. Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with Common Core State Standards, WISH Signature Practices and Instructional Guidelines. Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices throughout the school and effectively address diverse student needs. Share best practices. Communicate regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress. Involve parents and guardians as partners in their students’ education. Actively participate in professional development activities, including working closely with lead teachers, principal, and instructional coaches. Support the Mission, Philosophy, and Core Tenets of WISH Charter Middle School. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
