The School Administrative Assistant I provides secretarial and office management support to the school principal, vice-principal, and teaching staff at the administrative office of a school program. The working hours for this vacancy are 7:00 am-3:30 pm This vacancy requires candidates to be trilingual in English, Spanish, and ASL. Davila Day School’s mission is to provide Deaf and Hard of Hearing students a learning environment that is culturally inclusive, fully accessible, and values the development of both spoken and signed languages. Davila Day School's setting is designed to nurture students' academic and social-emotional growth, while also providing access to the general education curriculum and standards. Our staff strive to promote a sense of belonging while celebrating the uniqueness of each student.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to two (2) years of progressively responsible office/secretarial experience performing the typical tasks described in the job description. In addition, formal training in secretarial procedures and skills is highly desirable. Experience with student information systems, substitute call-out systems, Peoplesoft, and purchase order systems preferred. Positions in this classification may be designated as bilingual or trilingual assignments. Positions designated bilingual/trilingual require oral competency and literacy in Spanish, English, and American Sign Language and the ability to translate spoken and written English to Spanish (and ASL) and Spanish to English (and ASL.)
