Job Summary

Under direction, the Mechanic II will perform a variety of skilled level repair, overhaul and maintenance of buses, passenger vehicles, trucks and a variety of other gasoline and diesel powered motorized equipment; do other related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: • Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by training or coursework in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment. Experience: • Two (2) years of experience as a journeyman level gasoline and diesel powered automotive mechanic. License Requirement: Must possess a valid Class B, California Drivers License, with a passenger endorsement, or obtain one within six months of employment. Attach any documents that you feel will help demonstrate that you meet the minimum qualifications listed above (i.e. resume, transcript, diploma). A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. • The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. It is the candidate’s responsibility to attach all documents to the EDJOIN application.

Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
