BACKGROUND Under the direction of the Principal or designee, the Learning Recovery Emergency Block Grant (LREBG) Lead Teacher provides leadership and coordination of all LREBG-funded instructional interventions and supports. This is a non-student-facing position focused on program oversight, staff support, and data-driven improvement to address learning gaps among targeted student groups. The Lead Teacher ensures implementation is aligned with the LREBG Plan, Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), and state accountability requirements. This is a temporary, grant-funded position that will end upon expiration or reduction of LREBG funding. Duties may be adjusted as program or funding requirements change.

Salary Placement Stipulation
Experience Placement – Entering teachers may be granted credit for up to 10 years (*) of prior teaching experience.
Eligible experience must be as a full-time, credentialed teacher in a K–12 public school setting within the United States.
A year is defined as at least 75% of a full school year. Partial years may not be combined to meet this requirement.
Important Note Regarding Sick Leave Transfers
In accordance with California Education Code §22717, Urban Charter Schools Collective/ Yav Pem Suab Academy does not accept the transfer of unused sick leave from prior employers. While CalSTRS may grant additional service credit for unused sick leave certified by a member’s final CalSTRS-covered employer, UCSC’s current policy does not allow for the acceptance or certification of transferred sick leave balances. Candidates are encouraged to consider this in relation to their CalSTRS retirement planning.
