Job Summary
Serves as an Education Support Specialist to meet the needs of general and special education students, assisting certificated / permitted teachers with classroom management, organization, and providing instructional support to individuals or small groups under the guidance and direction of the assigned teacher. The Specialist attends to students' physical, personal, academic, emotional and/or behavioral needs. A major emphasis is placed on ensuring student safety and supervision during lunch, recess, and all other times. For special education students requiring individualized assistance, the Specialist provides one-on-one support to the assigned student during recess and lunch.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent Excellent communication and interpersonal skills DESIRED Minimum one-year experience working with children in a school setting Associate's degree or higher, 48 semester units of higher education Experience working in a school setting Training in effective crisis intervention techniques
