POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the High School Principal, the College Access Coordinator supports first-generation and underrepresented students in pursuing postsecondary education. This role focuses on providing guidance, resources, and opportunities that help students successfully navigate the college application, financial aid, and enrollment processes. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: E = Essential Duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Identify students who are eligible for four-year colleges and increase awareness of opportunities. E 2. Support students through all phases of the college application process. E 3. Coordinate visits and presentations by colleges and universities. E 4. Increase student and family awareness of local higher education options. E 5. Assist students and families with financial aid applications (FAFSA, California Dream Act, scholarships, etc.). E 6. Plan and facilitate student visits to college campuses. E 7. Inform families about eligibility and application requirements, including A–G course completion, standardized testing, and associated fees. E 8. Meet with students individually and in small groups to provide ongoing support and counseling. E 9. Provide awareness of alternate avenues to postsecondary education, including community college, vocational training, and certificate programs. E 10. Assist with family education events and workshops related to college readiness. E ABILITY TO 1. Guide students and families through complex processes with patience and clarity. 2.
