Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief of Police and pursuant to 830.32 of the California Penal Code, provides law enforcement, security and protection to students, personnel, equipment and property of the District; observes and corrects behavior of students and non-students; investigates crimes, accidents, vandalism, and detains persons suspected of criminal behavior; and emphasizes community-based policing and collaborative problem solving.

The following must be submitted at the time of application: • Certificate of completion of a California POST approved law enforcement training academy. The following must be submitted by the final test part: • Copy of a valid California class "C" driver's license. • Proof of valid car insurance. • Copy of valid and up-to-date First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by a recognized training program. • Proof of highest obtained education. Possession of valid California POST Basic Certificate from an approved police academy is required at the time of hire. You are not eligible for hire until you have obtained the California POST Basic Certificate. If you currently possess the certificate, please submit the certificate with your application.
