Job Summary

Job Summary

Discovery Studies Teacher: Meet with families every 20 school days to collect work and lesson plans, review student progress, and to provide guidance and support. Facilitate monthly crew meetings with families. Facilitate and attend fieldwork for 1 or 2 fieldwork trips each month. There will be at least 2 overnighters - one in the fall and one in the spring. Teach an on-site class once a week to further their understanding of their fieldwork and expedition. It will also include additional literature and art instruction. Work closely with the DS team on all aspects of the DS program.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Strong balanced literacy and mathematics skills with knowledge of direct instruction • Expeditionary Learning Teaching Experience Desired • Willingness/desire to meet time demands to do this job well • Ability to work well with the current staff and our parent community • A life-long learner • Valid CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
