Nevada City School of the Arts (NCSOTA), a TK-8 charter school in operation since 1994, is seeking a dynamic, culturally aware, stimulating, and highly qualified Paraprofessional to join our team. JOB TITLE: PARAPROFESSIONAL SCHEDULE: 2025-26 School Year – Full-time (38 hours per week) WAGE: $20.00 - $30.25 per hour, depending on experience SUMMARY: The Nevada City School of the Arts (NCSOTA) Paraprofessional supports students with special needs in an inclusive educational setting. Working under the direct supervision of a certificated classroom teacher and education specialist, the paraprofessional provides instructional and behavioral support, as directed by the certificated educators, to help students access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities. Responsibilities include assisting with academic tasks, reinforcing individualized education program (IEP) goals, supporting students' social-emotional development, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment. The paraprofessional plays a key role in fostering student independence, affirming their strengths, and promoting dignity in all interactions. This position may involve one-on-one support as well as small group work and requires flexibility, patience, and a commitment to nurturing the physical, emotional, and academic well-being of each student.
