Job Summary
The Human Resources Specialist supports various HR functions with a focus on benefits administration, performance management, talent acquisition, compliance, leave and accommodation management, and general HR operations. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant HR processes, contributing to a positive employee experience and organizational effectiveness. While the HR Specialist will support the department in a variety of aspects, they will be assigned to primarily support one of the three main areas identified below. All employees are expected to follow the responsibilities and procedures as delineated in the Employee Handbook. For this position, we are specifically looking for someone to take on the following duties and responsibilities: Benefits & Performance Management - Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs including open enrollment, new hire enrollments, and qualifying life events with accuracy and attention to deadlines. Review and process qualifying event submissions in compliance with plan requirements and School policies. - Process COBRA notifications in accordance with federal guidelines and timelines. - Make timely and accurate updates in HRIS for benefit elections, and employee status changes. - Audit benefits data regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensure compliance, and maintain data integrity. - Analyze benefits trends and reporting data to recommend improvements or proactively address issues. - Draft professional and consistent benefit-related communications, templates, and employee resources. - Partner with Payroll, Leaves and Compliance teams to ensure smooth end-to-end benefits administration. - Support the evaluation process through the planning and coordination of evaluation procedures and communications. Track and maintain the documentation for evaluations, disciplinary actions, and related processes. This position is offered remotely and is a year-round position.
