General Responsibilities

Terms of Employment:

Pay: $52,576-$98,557 (plus 4 paid PD days)
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Life, AD&D, LTD
Supervisor: Principal
Start Date: As soon as hiring process is completed
Employment Status: Non-continuing position for the 2025–26 school year

 

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

  1. Teach and instruct 6th grade students in all core content areas (ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science, Fitness/Health).
  2.  Develop lesson plans and teaching outlines using the CCSS and the district’s adopted course of study and instructional program guidelines.
  3. Plan, develop, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and aids appropriate to the intellectual and instructional level of students from varied socio-economic backgrounds who possess a range of mental and emotional maturity.
  4. Provide group and individual instruction to motivate students and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities.
  5. Prepare, administer, score, record, and report student growth data.
  6.  Counsel, confer with, and communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding pupil progress. Consistently conveying rigorous expectations to students and parents.
  7.  Monitor students’ interactions and nurture cooperation and team building.
  8. Collaborate with all school staff members.
  9. Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations
  10. Contribute to the PLC/Data Team on a regular basis
  11. Consistently seeking ways to improve

  1. Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possess a current Washington State K-8 Generalist teaching certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrated understanding of research-based instructional strategies and assessment practices that support effective instruction.
  2. Must possess strong communication skills, patience, flexibility and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of students.
  3. Must be a problem solver and a team player, with the ability to work with students, staff, parents and other community patrons in an amiable and productive manner.
  4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with students, teachers, school administrators, support personnel, and community members.
  5. Evidence/demonstration of use of technology to enhance student learning or willingness to learn.
