Reports To: Vice President of Finance Full time, 12-month, exempt Description: JSerra Catholic High School seeks a dynamic and experienced human resource professional to serve 300+ employees. This person will oversee all strategy, initiatives, systems, and processes related to human resource functions. The ideal candidate is expected to assess and anticipate needs, opportunities, and issues related to human capital as well as develop and implement solutions. This is a true generalist role with responsibilities spanning a number of key areas. Special Qualities & Characteristics • Passionate for the mission of JSerra (i.e. the formation of students’ faith, intellect, and character) • Deep appreciation for the Catholic faith and a commitment to the teachings of the Church • Strong initiative and desire to work in a highly collaborative environment • Superior rapport with parents, students, and staff Responsibilities • Advocate for employees by seeking first to understand and, when possible, resolve their concerns • Serve as a liaison between staff and administration, mediate conflict, and provide coaching to both supervisors and direct reports • Coordinate employee communications related to benefits, school policy, and professional expectations • Ensure supervisors conduct routine and documented performance evaluations of all employees • Maintain effective working relationships with all levels of school leadership to inform and clarify strategy regarding current and future personnel needs • Create regular training and development programs for supervisors • Oversee the entire employment lifecycle (recruiting, hiring, onboarding, developing, evaluating, and separating) as well as detailed tracking of related documentation • Seek to automate and create efficient processes when and wherever possible • Inform school leadership of relevant changes to federal and state employment law and labor code • Manage all aspects of employee benefits programs a

Knowledge & Skills • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Extreme discretion when dealing with confidential information and employee matters • Deep familiarity with federal and California labor laws • Superior organizational and administrative skills • High level of proficiency using automated systems and Microsoft Office Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred • Minimum of 10 years of diversified human resources experience • Prior management role in educational or non-profit environment a strong plus
