With schools dating back to the 1870s, the award-winning Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) is now the 16th largest school district in California. RUSD educates nearly 42,000 students across 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. RUSD is led by its 13th Superintendent, Dr. Sonia Llamas and is governed by a Board of Education comprised of publicly elected officials who serve five different trustee areas.

Requirements / Qualifications

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction or appointed designee, the Director IV of Curriculum and Assessment will provide leadership to coordinate and align curriculum and assessments for all schools within the district. The Director will actualize the principles of a coherent Tier I instructional program across the district by aligning curricular resources, essential standards guides, and content area plans. They will also prioritize the development of clear assessment plans and materials adoption plans. Additionally, the Director will oversee intervention and support programs and use data to improve instruction by analyzing achievement data and program effectiveness for all areas assigned to them by the Assistant Superintendent. To further ensure continuous improvement, the Director will prioritize learning by staying current with best practices in curriculum and assessment to benefit all students.


ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate K-12 instructional programs, including, but not limited to: instructional materials, adopted courses, curriculum and assessment plans, and alignment of instructional focus areas
  • Regularly monitor metrics for student outcomes and work collaboratively to ensure that student outcomes are increasing
  • Actively support the District’s MTSS model and continually monitor for effectiveness
  • Coordinate, monitor, and/or update a coherent and aligned TK-12 formative assessment plan
  • Continually monitor and report on achievement data on all student groups from district assessments and within intervention/support programs, with a specific focus English Learners

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • California Administrative Credential
  • Master’s Degree or higher
  • Minimum of three (3) years of site administrator experience (preferred)
  • Valid California Driver’s License or Identification Card
  • Math experience desired
