Position Overview Fallbrook Union High School District is seeking a knowledgeable and student-centered College and Career Instructor to support high school students in navigating their post-secondary pathways. This role is ideal for someone passionate about educational access, career readiness, and empowering youth to make informed decisions about their futures. The instructor will guide students through college applications, financial aid processes, career exploration, and more—all within the dynamic Saturday Academy environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

Resume Cover letter detailing experience with college and career readiness Two professional references Key Responsibilities Develop a curriculum that aligns with the curriculum and units being taught during the regular school day Create a balanced instructional approach that dedicates approximately 50% of class time to reteaching foundational skills necessary to achieve grade-level standards and 50% of class time to reinforcing current grade-level classroom standards Design engaging lessons that incorporate activity changes or physical movement every 10 minutes to trigger brain re-engagement and maintain student focus Help students understand and see the relevance of mathematical practices to their current and future lives through real-world connections and applications Plan and deliver dynamic mathematics lessons appropriate for various grade levels and skill sets Assess student understanding and provide individualized feedback and support Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, oral and written communication skills and kinesthetic learning Track student progress and communicate with parents/guardians about student development Collaborate with FUHSD classroom teachers and other pertinent staff to ensure curriculum alignment and continuity Collaborate closely with the Saturday Academy Coordinator, Director of Education Services, and/or the FHS math department chair Collaborate with other Saturday Academy staff to ensure program cohesion Maintain accurate records of attendance, assignments, and student performance Participate in program planning meetings and professional development opportunities

Required: Required: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and pedagogy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with students of varying ages and skill levels
