Job Summary
The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) provides support to teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and parents. The TOSA will be trained to provide coaching, training, and professional development to classroom teachers utilizing their in-depth knowledge and experience in researched-based behavioral and social- emotional practices, current research based practices to support the mental health of homeless and foster youth (trauma informed practices), and a variety to practices to support positive school attendance. The TOSA will also demonstrate growing expertise in effective coaching practices as well as the ability to use various forms of assessment data to inform instructional decision-making. Requirements / Qualifications
Appropriate Clear Multiple or Single Subject teaching credential, or equivalent EL Authorization Minimum of three years of successful teaching and/or coaching experience (no unsatisfactory areas marked on the most recent evaluation) Ability and desire to work with adult learners Experience with meeting the needs of all students in a diverse, multicultural environment

The four roles include:
- Enterprise Elementary Instructional Support TOSA: Provides coaching, modeling, and professional development to enhance Tier 1 instruction and improve student achievement at Enterprise Elementary.
- Columbia Elementary Instructional Support TOSA: Offers site-specific coaching and professional learning to strengthen classroom instruction and data-informed decision-making at Columbia Elementary.
- English Learner (EL) Support TOSA: Supports integrated and designated English Language Development (ELD) across all schools, provides EL-focused professional development, and monitors program effectiveness for English learners.
- Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) TOSA: Facilitates implementation of the district’s VAPA Strategic Plan, supports arts integration, and collaborates with staff and community partners to expand arts access and engagement.
TOSAs will also demonstrate a growing expertise in effective coaching practices and the ability to use various forms of assessment data to inform instructional and programmatic decision-making.
