Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Must Hold a Child Development Site Supervisor’s Permit from the State Of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing • Minimum of 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, 3 units in administration. • Master’s degree preferred • Requires two to four years of professional teaching experience with infants, toddlers, preschoolers. • Minimum of one year of prior supervisory experience, including classroom leadership responsibility or professional administration experience in a child care center • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to create partnerships with families and staff • Knowledge and ability to lead staff in implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum • Strong organizational skills • Capacity to understand and manage center • Computer literacy required • Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and remain clam during times of stress • Strong management skills; ability to lead, develop and mentor staff • Solid communication skills - oral and written • Computer skills - must be computer literate at a general business level (word processing, excel spreadsheets)

Assigned Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining and guiding the overall educational program for the children at 2 sites as well as the supervision and evaluation of all staff members, including: instructional aides, teachers, student helpers, housekeepers, and custodians.
• Coordinates and supervises the educational program for George Washington CC and Horace Mann Special Education Early Development Program (SEED).
• Creates and sustains positive partnerships with families by serving as the primary resource for responding to questions and concerns.
• Directs and manages the enrollment process and orientation programs for new families
• Assigns and places staff members, in accordance with District standards
• Engages in regular classroom observations and provide staff with feedback
• Gives regularly scheduled tours for interested families
• Responds to immediate needs of children, parents and staff
• Maintains children records in accordance to State Licensing and District requirements
• Evaluates all site staff members. In charge of staff schedules when there is a change in enrollment, school schedules etc.
• Maintains optimum enrollment to assure a balanced budget
• Maintains and provides records and reports as required by the Burbank Unified School District
• Provides orientation and training for staff
• Maintains necessary and effective communication with the Children’s Center Office and the District Office
• Organizes a parent advisory group, plans for regular parent meetings, and solicits the support of parents in the Center community
• Responds to the immediate needs of children, parents, and staff.
• Organizes and implements appropriate training for staff including first aid, CPR, and universal precautions as appropriate
