BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned Principal, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of limited or non-English speaking students in a classroom environment by translating written materials and oral lectures; translate for teachers or non-English speaking parents as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience working with children in an organized setting. Incumbents must be proficient in English and a designated second language. Please note that this is a bilingual position and the successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in both Russian and English. The ability to speak Russian is required and will be evaluated during the Qualifications Appraisal Interview (Oral Exam) phase of the recruitment.
